TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman was in action again last weekend, taking part in a sprint triathlon at Roadford Lake.

The event started with a 750-metre open water swim in Roadford Lake, followed by a run up to transition and onto the bike for the 20k cycle road race. This was followed by a 5k off-road run.

Pete finished the race in a time of 1 hour 13 minutes 03 seconds, an improvement of almost four minutes on his previous time. Not only did he win his category (16-19 years), he achieved second place in the competitive adult male category.

In the same week Pete took part in the Okehampton Cycle Club 10 mile time trials at Bridestowe. It was another personal best for Pete who finished in a time of 27 minutes 22 seconds, an improvement of 34 seconds, and he was also the fastest junior.

This was a great result for Tavistock College student Pete, who trains with Tavistock Wheelers Cycle Club.
