LAST weekend was a busy time for Cotehele Quay Gig Club. On Saturday four crews —the ladies' A, B and C and men's B — took part in the Cattewatter Regatta off Plymouth. The rain that had been forecast held off but sea conditions, once crews rowed past the headland, were difficult for the river rowers as there was lots of choppy water. Rita Hoile, on behalf of the club said 'it was very exhilarating and everyone did their best.' The ladies' C crew were pipped to fourth place by just three seconds. On Sunday the CQGC U16s crew took part in the CPGA U16s Championships. They had a great time and came a credible ninth out of 22 crews.

The U16s crew who took part in the championships — Jack French, Harry Duddridge, Fergus Gallacher, Eve Rogers, Mark Duddridge (cox), Erin Holman and Marquita Gargan.
