TAMAR Trails held its first 10 kilometre run on Saturday evening in the Tamar Valley. The race – which the Tamar Trails running group recently took over – has been held at the trails for the last few years and was previously known as the Bazo 10k.
This year it attracted 43 people who entered and finished; organisers are hoping to build up the trails. The course was an undulating woodland course with fast, flat stretches at the start with a mile flat finish.
Adam Holland won the 10k in a time of 38 minutes 06 seconds while Sam Lake, fifth overall, was first female home in the time of 45.06.
The Tamar Trail runners are hoping to have more races in the coming years with their next race being the Rollacoaster on November 25.
