TAVISTOCK RFC travelled to Wadebridge on Saturday for a pre-season fixture against Wadebridge Camels, who play their rugby in Western Counties West.

With unseasonal torrential conditions Tavistock served up a rugby storm as they gave their opponents a real test in the final pre-season game.  After a shaky start conceding two early tries to the Camels, Tavistock started to put some phases together and found themselves under the posts.  The Camels retaliated but the mighty TRFC’s defence stood firm as spectators witnessed a swing in the game, with the next 20 minutes being dominated by the visitors, who scored two excellent team tries. 

The team spirit was superb and the forward pack excellent winning most line-outs.   The away supporters and officials said they were pleased with Tavistock’s team performance, the structure to their play as well as the general fitness of the team which has benefited from pre-season training.
