Horrabridge Rangers U16s 1

Efford Youth U16s 2

HORRABRIDGE had an opportunity to take the lead after five minutes when Taylor Kingham did well to create space for himself before seeing his shot just creep over the cross-bar from 12 yards.

Rangers continued to play good passing football and the Efford keeper made a smart save to deny Max Burgess after 15 minutes. Anything Efford threw at Horrabridge was always well dealt with by the home defence who again had Aaron Johnson and Will Glanville in commanding form.

Efford opened the scoring after 36 minutes when a Horrabridge player turned the ball into his own net from a corner.

In the second half Horrabridge rallied and equalised when Jack Northam and Harry Eaton linked up well to set up Max Burgess who cut in from the left wing to fire an unstoppable shot past the Efford keeper.

Both teams chased the win but it was Horrabridge who created the better chances but were guilty of some wayward shooting. Efford then took the lead after 70 minutes when Elliot scored from 14 yards. Horrabridge upped the tempo for the final 20 minutes but the visitors defence defended their lines well.

Both Rangers' player of the match Jack Northam and Courtney Fry had good chances but were denied by the crossbar. Efford nearly wrapped the game up with five minutes left but Francis's shot from 20 yards was denied with a superb save from home keeper Ollie Cox.
