MORE than 200 children from 10 local schools attended the Okehampton Learning Community Hockey Quicksticks Festival.

Okehampton Hockey Club coaches and young leaders ran the day.

School sports Co-ordinator Stuart Lord, who organised the event, said: 'The club put on a fantastic day for all the children, where they took part in a wide range of skills and game play.

'The club do great work in the community developing hockey and activity for all ages and abilities. They are at the highest level of accreditation and have quite rightly just won Devon Sports Club of the Year.'

The club deliver youth hockey on a Saturday morning at Okehampton College all weather pitch with all equipment provided for girls and boys. All welcome. Times: Years 5-7, 9.30-10.30am; Years 7-11, 10.30-11.30am.
