TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman took part in the third event of the Exeter Triathlon Club aquathlon series at Middlemoor Police Station. 

There was a record number of entries on the day with more than 200 competitors taking part.

Pete, 15, competed in the adult sprint race.  This event started with a 600m swim followed be a 5k run.  In a competitive race Pete had an excellent swim and run, He completed the swim in a time of 8 minutes 08 seconds - an improvement of 12 seconds. Pete did he run in 17mins 22secs  an impressive improvement of 2mins 25secs. With a finish time of 25 minutes and 30 seconds this was a personal best for Pete.

Pete timed his  race to overtake the lead runners on the final lap , crossing the finishing line in first place, a surprise win for Pete. 

He took first place in the youth (15-16) category and first place in the senior male category. This was a great result for Tavistock College pupil Pete, and he is now looking forward to the final aquathlon of the series at Exeter University.

Pete, a member of Tavistock Wheelers Cycle Club is now training for his next event, the Exe Valley Triathlon.
