TAVISTOCK Wheelers' North Shore Racing Team took part in the circuit races at Perranporth and enjoyed great successes. In the youth race, great performances saw the club's duo of Jordan Channon and Harry Bryant finish in first and second places. This was Jordan's first win at this level of competition. Shortly afterwards the senior race team took up the challenge and the sunny evening made for great racing conditions. Straight from the off they ramped up the pace — the race soon fragmented and Gavin MacDougall was in a break with two others. Not content to have only one rider in a break, the team worked well to close the gap. This set things up for Phil Collings to bridge and stack things in the team's favour. With other riders controlling the main group, further attacks kept coming and soon both Lee Adams and Huw Richards were breaking away. Again, Dan Strong, Mark Wiffen and Gray Roberts policed things, to make sure the men stayed away. At the end, after just missing out in the sprint finish, Gavin took 2nd, with Phil 3rd, Lee 5th, Huw 7th, Mark 9th, Gray 10th.
