OKEHAMPTON Smallbore Club's Paul Batten is lying in first place in the 'individual' shooters competition after three rounds in the North Devon Smallbore League's top division one of the Prone Rifle section, with a superb score of 297 out of 300.

Martin Elliott, also of Okehampton SC, is in first place in division five and in division six Okehampton Club are again doing well with three members, Steve Cooke, Amanda Elliott and Peter Blake taking second, third and fourth places respectively.

Overall in the championships at this halfway stage, Paul Batten is second, and he is also winning the veterans' section at this point.

In division three of the team competition, Okehampton SC's C team — Martin Elliott, Vince Floyd, Chris Short and Stuart Bennie — are in first place, with Okehampton D team of Peter Blake, Peter Patterson, Amanda Elliott and Steve Cooke a close third.
