TAVISTOCK Squash and Racketball Club held its annual Junior Tournament last Saturday, with the boys playing a squash tournament and the girls a racketball tournament.
In what proved to be a repeat of last year, the boys' final was played between Patrick Powell and Roger Blandford and the girls' final between Ellie Powell and Holly Gibbs.
In the boys' match it was a change of fortunes for Patrick who came through strongly to win the match 2-0.
With Patrick and Roger now both 18 it means this was their last chance to play in the junior tournament and so the competition will be wide open for next year's event.
It was a similar story in the girls' final with last year's beaten finalist Holly Gibbs getting the better of Ellie this time round. This was an enjoyable event and thanks to all who took part.
The club is trying to increase the number of juniors taking up squash and racketball.
If you are eleven or over and are interested in taking up a game which has been voted 'the healthiest sport', but which is also great fun, check out our web site.
