OKEHAMPTON Running Club members joined in The Age UK Wrap Up 10k in Exeter, which is one of a series of races up and down the country.
A friendly atmosphere and the downhill start from Princesshay followed by two flat laps along the river Exe makes this race a good one either to chase a personal best or for a first try at the distance.
There was a good turnout from the ORCs with Roger Voaden the first member to finish in a time of 37 minues 21 seconds. Leanne Rice and Claire Sprague each ran a PB and for Jacky Davey, Molly Bell and Amy Chapman it was their first race.
ORC times: Roger Voaden 37:21, Leanne Rice 48.37, Danielle Fulford-Brown 54.07, Jackie Dawes 56.17, Molly Bell 57.20, Amy Chapman 58.05, Sarah Woolacott 1:04:38. Claire Sprague 1:05.57, Sarah Bell 1.09.27.
n On a visit to Essex Mags Jarvis took advantage of a Parkrun on her daughters's doorstep and was pleased to improve on her previous two runs to finish the 5k in 24.29.
