PERFECT conditions for Bideford AAC’s ten miler on a fast and flat course beside the River Torridge resulted in some great times from the large turnout of Okehampton Running Club members.
Chris Turner was first home for the club just ahead of Andy Vernon. Katie Littlejohns was the first ORC lady to finish. Beverley Kidson won the FV55 category; the team of Katie Littlejohns, Charlotte Radnor, Anne Binns and Beverley Kidson were the third ladies’ team; while Mike Westland, back from a long lay off, was delighted to get a personal best, knocking four minutes off last year’s time.
Meanwhile on the other side of the estuary at Chivenor, Sarah Haigh was tackling a 10K commando style assault course challenge involving mud, water, fire and ice at the Mission Unbreakable event held in aid of North Devon Hospice.
