Sidmouth and Ottery D 1

AS soon as the hockey match started the rain and hail hammered down on the pitch. A short corner was given to Sidmouth and Ottery and a goal was conceded by the home team.

However, not long after Okehampton won a short corner back and their captain Brett Lawson slotted the ball into the goal for the equaliser and lifted their mood.

Soon after a reverse shot from Jake Lloyd narrowly missed and hit the post.

The Sidmouth keeper stopped an attack from Jack Watson but gave Okehampton a penalty flick. Andy Strong stepped up and flicked it deftly into the bottom right corner to give Okehampton A a 2-1 lead at half-time.

After half time the rain dried up. Good linking up from the Okehampton forwards gave Jack Watson some chances which he narrowly missed.  

Good work from Johannis Clifford-Flower, Tim Morgan, Tom Hutchings and Haydon Perrior kept out attacks from the opposition and helped to keep the ball away from Okehampton's D.  

Another successful short corner led to Brett Lawson scoring again the third for Okehampton, and later a one two with Andy Strong completed Lawson's hat-trick.

Man of the match went to Okehampton's Tom Hutchings for his constant clean tackles.
