TAVISTOCK AFC have a mixture of experience combined with a number of talented youngsters joining their squad for the forthcoming Carlsberg South West Peninsula premier league season.
Having only lost Ben Davies from last season's squad the Lambs have been bolstered by the signings of St Blazey centre half Joe Smith, Harry Eaton (Vospers), Will Davis (Liskeard) and Chris Bray (Bere Alston).
Ryan Honey makes a welcome return and will be joined in the squad by a number of talented local youngsters who have impressed in pre-season.
Long serving goalkeeper Andy Meeds has not recovered from breaking his ribs at the end of last season so Adam Fuller (Barnstaple Town) and Dean Smith returning after a lengthy lay off will be vying for the number one spot.
Manager Ian Southcott told the Times: 'We are stronger than last year having signed some experienced players to bolster key positions and we now have a highly talented group of local youngsters coming through who are going to be very special and when we mix them in with our existing squad things are looking very rosy. I am really excited about our prospects for this season.
John Wyatt (Groin), Paul Quinn (Army) and Dean Southcott (RAF) will be the only absentees for the Lambs who name a 21 man squad for Saturday's opener against last season's division one West champions.
