Chagford 3
Westexe Rovers 2
CHAGFORD clocked up their first double win of the season. Rob Lethbridge gave the home side a good start, in the fourth minute, when he hammered home the ball following Wes Gavillet's superb pass to Oscar Emanuel who set up the chance.
For the next 30 minutes Chagford played well but failed to take advantage of some superb crosses and forward play. This allowed Westexe to claw their way back but two gifted opportunities gave Dan Smith a quick double and Rovers the lead at the break.
Ralph and his defence had dealt well with everything else so the two goals was a set back to the home team.
The hosts opened the second half brightly and pressure from a corner eventually paid off on the hour when centre-back Rob Thorn met the ball and fired home a piledriver from all of two yards.
Westexe pressed forward but Chagford, who had gambled on three at the back, took further heart and later introduced Alex Gavillet with Josh Stanbury in their search for a winner.
Visiting 'keeper Hosea had made two smart saves and Stanbury clipped a post the latter smashed in a top corner winner just three minutes from time.
