THE Moorland Ladies Darts League held their finals and presentation night on Saturday at the Tavy Club in Tavistock.

Molly Bickell, the league chairwoman, presented a cheque for £600 to Sandy Edney, Julie McGowan, Jan Burrows and Sue Langman of the Make A Difference charity based at Trident House. Tavistock who support mental health recovery.

The league held three charity events during the season - a quiz night, a darts night and a bingo night to raise money for this cause.

The winners on darts night on board one was M Fisher with D Sampson as runner-up; board two winner was Gill Edge-Downing, runner-up E Monk. The overall winner of the darts charity night was Gill Edge-Downing of the Prince of Wales with a total score of 417, runner-up M Fisher, the Prince of Wales, 401.

The competition finals were followed by the presentation of the trophies.

Singles, J Dean (Tavy Traders), runner-up J Mellows (Prince of Wales). Doubles, C Jury and J Dean (Tavy Traders), runners-up S Allen and P Phillips (Red and Black Club, Tavistock).

Mixed doubles, L Evans and P Evans (Red and Black Club), runners-up J Mellows and J Steele (Prince of Wales).

Three's competition, C Wiseman, L Walters and JB Mitchell (the Duke of York) runners-up A Gale, V Gale and C Gynn (Cornish Inn). Fours, J Mellows, M Fisher, G Edge-Downing and K Masterton (Prince of Wales), runners-up A Howard, W Cann, V Gale and A Gale (Cornish Inn).

The Captains Cup, G Edge-Downing (Prince of Wales), runner-up D Frise (Buccaneer Inn, Gunnislake). The Handicap Cup, the Tavy Club. Most team tons, The Cornish Inn (66 tons from league matches during the season) and most team wins, 36.

Highest shot out, S Holmes (Red and Black Club), 114 out. Highest score not including 180, S Allen (Red and Black Club), C Jury (Tavy Traders), JB Mitchell - all hit 160. Score of 180, C Jury (Tavy Traders), A Johnson (Tavy Club) and P Evans at the mixed doubles competition.

Recognition was give to C Brighton of VSC, Bere Alston for achieving a 10 dart leg during a game.
