The sportshall league is for children aged between 8 and 15 years old where they compete against other clubs around Devon in the league.
There are ten clubs who take part and battle for the medals. On Sunday the juniors from Tavistock brought home 23 of the medals from different age categories: Under 15s Josh Davis won gold medals in four lap and two lap and bronze in high jump; Joely Bytheway won a silver medal in two lap hurdle and a bronze in hight jump; Devi Young won a silver in standing long jump; Benjamin Rogers three bronzes in a standing triple jump, shot putt and standing long; Jodie Hall won a silver medal in speed bounce; Under 13s Jenny Milburn gold in four laps and a bronze in two laps; Lee Shipton won a sliver in shot putt; Soteris perdikeas won silver in vertical jump; Under 11s William Russell won a gold medal in chest push; Under 10s Alexandra Kinsey gold medal in soft javelin; Hayden James two silver medals in soft javelin and chest push; Edward Mills won three gold medals in soft javelin, standing long jump and vertical jump.
Tavistock were 4th overall and in the league they are 5th overall for the first time in years. The next sportshall is being held at Plymouth on January 18. Tavistock's awards night is being held tomorrow (Friday).
