A CONSISTENT performance from all concerned for the Conservative Z team who saw a 5-0 victory in this largely forgettable Tavistock Snooker League match against Golf Club B.

First to the table was Hodge versus Bartlett; Hodge got off to a flying start and never looked like relinquishing his lead over his opponent at any point during the match.

Mayors however struggled against Pope for a short time but finally prevailed in a tense match. Fitzsimmons had no such problems against Dee and eventually overcame his opponent with ease. McKechnie took on Congo, a difficult customer at the best of times, but McKechnie retained his composure and played to his strengths.

Grylls had the easiest of games against Treble who failed to keep up with his opponent’s potting skills. Overall this was a satisfactory evening for Conservative Z team.

Another maximum five return was achieved by the West Devon B team against local rivals West Devon 40.

Hoar and Dingle had comfortable run outs for the West Devon B team, while Hooper, Roger Rich and John Rich had to battle for their points – a Rich potting spree on the colours to come back from the brink against Hart being the highlight of the night.

Conservative A plodded on their merry way with a 4-1 win over Conservative B as they tried as best they could to put some pressure on the leaders Golf A.

Wiles, and Carruthers had little trouble in their frames, leaving Mark Evans and Bell to graft out wins in theirs.

The one bright point for Con B was a good win by Eales as he took full advantage of an out of sorts Tom Evans to give his team something from the match.
