SO what have you decided to do this year? Perhaps you want to lose some weight, get fit or raise money for charity? Or maybe you have decided to run that half marathon you have always promised yourself you would one day? Well, great news! This year you can do all of these things with a little help from Tavistock Athletic Club.

The Tavy 13— Tavistock's very own half marathon — will be run around West Devon's beautiful countryside on Sunday, March 24. Take a look at the website at tavy13.com and fill in the online entry before yet another new year's resolution goes for a burton! There is still plenty of time to get fit enough and the friendly, qualified coaches at Tavistock Athletic Club will help you to get all the training you need.

Why not go along to its training sessions on Tuesday or Thursday at 6.15pm, meeting in the Sports Centre at Tavistock College People don't have to be an athlete — just in good health and willing to put in a bit of enjoyable effort to achieve their goal.

The club will be be running special Sunday runs to build up stamina for the 13.1 mile half marathon - starting with a seven mile run on Sunday. This will start at 9am from Bedford Square where there is free parking.

Runners of all abilities will be welcome. The programme of further Sunday runs will gradually build up to 12.5 miles.
