THE fourth year of the Lamerton Junior Fun Run held in Broady Field for the under 12s attracted 15 enthusiastic competitors ranging from five to 12 years of age.

This event opens the annual Duck Race and Village Fete raising funds for the village hall.

The 1.6k race started at 1.30pm accompanied by loud voices of encouragement from the crowd and the runners set off under perfect blue sky conditions. There was a neck and neck battle for first and second place encouraged by rapturous applause as they crossed the line within one second of each other.

The winner was Jacob Skedgell in 7 minutes 56 seconds; second, Rick De Wilde in 7mins 57 secs and in third place Lucy Evans 8mins 32secs.
