CONSERVATIVE Z only just grabbed victory against a much improved Conservative C in the Tavistock Snooker League.

There were five long and hard fought frames in a tense and exciting match.

First of the evening was Hall for Con Z pitted against Richard Davies, a new addition for the C team, who although not an unknown quantity, is new to the league, and he more than proved his worth against Hall. However, it was first blood to the Z team.

Mayors for Con Z regained parity for his team when Dodd, who appeared to have the game under control had an unfortunate ‘in off’ and Mayors pounced with a decent break of 20 leaving Dodd with too much to do.

A confident Clive Jago for Con C team notched up his first win in two seasons against a somewhat rusty Cath Friend, to earn a vital point for his team. The delight on his face was clear to see after a lean two seasons.

Toby Jago for Con C team fought a good frame against Symons, but the normally erratic Symons was on top of his game on the evening and took the point for the Con Z team.

The last frame of the evening and the decider was a thrilling match between the irrepressible Scotsman Jankowski of Con Z team and the reliable and steady Davey for Con C. It was a close run thing throughout but Jankowski held his nerve just managing to take the point and the game for his team.
