ISCA ladies fifths 7

Okehampton ladies seconds 0

THE team started with a minute's silence for the late Julia Gill who died this week from cancer. A valued member of the hockey community she will be missed for her drive, determination and support for hockey teams and officials in Devon.

The first half of the match saw Okehampton struggle to take possession of the ball. Midfielders, Nicola Stoneman and Viv Weatherington, working tirelessly to block waves of attack from ISCA's talented team.

Oke's defence of Sophie Tripp, Katie Adams and Sandy Douglas, did their best to clear their lines but the Isca attack was too strong and Isca soon opened the scoring.  Okehampton's young side struggled to take control of the match and saw four further goals for ISCA pass over the goal line in the first half.

The second half saw a more skilful Okehampton side. Rochelle Hillier supported forwards, Molly Petherbridge and Lottie Rademaker, to take the ball into the attacking half and make attempts at goal.

Okehampton's captain, Nic Stoneman encouraged the young team to maximise every opportunity. Holly Davidson relentlessly ran the pitch trying to defend and support goal scoring opportunities and Sandy's experience and superior defending skills saw many of ISCA tries being denied.

Jennie Humphry had a superb game in goal and kept the scoreline down.
