YOUNG Joe Cornish won the South West Kickboxing Academy (SWKA) student of the month for October.
Joe has been training with the SWKA for nearly 12 months on and off and has recently started training more regularly and started to show great progress. Joe came in to contact with the SWKA through fourth dan Steve Lilley the SWKA head coach, who worked with Horrabridge Youth Club, and Joe decided to keep up his training.
Steve said: 'Joe's recent commitment to regular training and thirst to learn has seen him impress all students and coaches within the SWKA.'
More great news is Richard Steers had great performances at MAAS fight events, seeing him earn the spot as the number one contender for the vacant under 80kg men's title.
Steve said: 'Richard's hard work and commitment to his training has really paid off. Richard is a very popular member of the club and always gives 200 per cent in everything he does and it's great news to see that his ability has been recognised.'
