EIGHTEEN junior students from the Tavistock Club entered the last British Jujitsu Association grading before the summer break.

Students demonstrated good progress through the Goju Ryu syllabus with many improved grades.

First time students Ella Glennon, Ellie Guy, Harry Eggins, Jamie Dove and Summer Matthews, although nervous, performed extremely well passing and achieving the next level eighth kyu which is represented by a yellow belt.

Ethan Shears, Harvey Berry-Collings, Logan Sulsh, Matthew Rush, Noah Reid, Oliver Childs and Thomas Doyle were promoted to seventh kyu orange belt.

Abraham Reid, Billy Stanley, Isaac Reid, Javier Torres and Sebastian Whitford were promoted to sixth kyu green belt one tab.

Dillon Hemming was promoted to fifth Kyu green belt two tabs.

Tavistock club instructor Umberto Bergonzini said: 'The grading panel was extremely pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by everyone, beginners as well as more experienced students. Well done to everyone. Students have come back proudly wearing their new belts and eager to train towards their next belt.'
