ON Sunday 32 children from Tavistock went to the Plymouth Life Centre to take part in their third Sportshall league competition.

For some it was their first time to compete but their nerves soon disappeared as they went to their first event.

The young athletes choose which three events plus the relay they would like to do and compete against different clubs from all over Devon.

All their hard work in their training paid off with the coaches from Tavistock Athletic Club.

The club also has some of its under 13s and 15s — Jenny Milburn, Jake Walker, Sorteris Purdikeas and Josh Davies — competing in the South West Championship held in Torquay in February.
