THIRTEEN Tavistock Athletic Club junior athletes attended three days of competition at Cardiff Indoor Athletics Centre. This was as part of the South West England Junior Indoor Athletics Champion-ships.

Twenty events were entered by club juniors and 17 personal best times were recorded.

TAC picked up three gold medals – Josh Davies in the 200m and 300m U17 male category and Oliver Woodmason in the U13 boys’ 1,500m.

Jenny Milburn earned two silver medals in the U15s’ 300m and 800m while Tom Brew earned silver in U17 boys’ 1,500m.

U15 girl athlete Tayla James gained bronze for 300m and U20 women’s Jade Kinsey picked up bronze for 400m.

Aimee-Leigh Clowes and Jenny Milburn have qualified for Sheffield Indoor National Championships with four more athletes returning to Cardiff in two weeks’ time with the aim of also achieving qualifying times for this event.

TAC club chairman Mhairi McCall would like to thank Alistair Kinsey, club coach, and the parents of the athletes for making the long journey to Cardiff to allow these committed and talented youngsters to take part in championship events.
