YOUNG Tavistock triathlete Emily Attfield continued her success in the South West Series of Triathlons, winning her third successive event at Bowood House in Wiltshire on Sunday to secure overall victory.

She has scored the maximum number of points and will be the series winner for the fourth year running in her age group.

The race started in the lake with a 400m swim before a 700 metre uphill run before a 4 x 3km lap cycle. Emily coasted home to win in a total time of 45 minutes 35 seconds.

This success follows Emily's recent win of the Exeter Aquathlon Series.  Although Emily was competing as a junior she was also raced against adults making this a special achievement as though the youngest competitor she finish in front of all to win the series overall.  She will now focus her efforts on preparing for the Sainsbury School Games 2013 to be held in Sheffield in September,  where she will be competing as a member of the regional cycle racing team. Emily is supported by Certini Bikes of Saltash who supply her equipment.
