IT was a great weekend of sports achievements from Tavistock Run Project members. Saturday saw the Devon schools’ Track and Field Championships event, held at Exeter Arena.

Competing from TRP were Oliver and Edward Smart who both ran another strong race. Ed finished in fourth place and second in the boy’s under 20s age group. Ollie won his respective age group race in the 1,500m to become Devon Schools’ champion.

Meanwhile over the river, the Cornwall schools’ track and field championships also took place on Saturday  with TRP’s Jacob Hegarty running an extremely strong 1,500m in the boys year 10/11 age category finishing in a great time of 4 minutes 36 seconds to equal his personal best. 

On a Sunday amidst the warm, balmy weather were three more TRP members tackling the Yeovil marathon and Heron half.

Jodi Fisk and Nick Taylor ran Yeovil Marathon while James Armstrong ran the Heron Half. This marathon was Nick’s first and he did the club proud to finish in a strong time of 4.39.50.  Jodi, running her seventh marathon finished with a superb PB of almost ten minutes in a time of 3.36.06 finishing third senior woman. 

James also completed the Heron Half marathon in a very good time of 1.31.37 finishing in 18th place overall. Congratulations everyone in your achievements this weekend.
