TAVISTOCK Golf Club's captain John Harding preceded his annual dinner with a Shotgun Start four ball team event, two scores to count. 

The weather was dry but cold but this did not deter 72 players taking part and producing some excellent scores. 

Winners for the day were Paul Crump, David Turnbull, Brian Wright and David Parkin with 80 points, second was the team of Adam Bridgewater, Keith Stenhouse, Lewis Reid and David Thomas with 78pts;  Gary Pumford, John Lyddon, Sam Hurdwell and Bill Phillott  with 76pts took third place. 

After their exertions on the course they sat down to an excellent dinner and an entertainment by past captains.

The weather for men's February Medal was even colder with hard fairways and lightening greens but 17 players took to the course with David John scoring a net 73, second Jack Philpotts net 75 on count back from Marc Ninnis. 

In the ladies' monthly Stableford Nicky Gawman, with 34 pts,  was first in division one; second Fran Horton 33pts and third was Dawn Dennis with 32pts on count back from Belinda McSherry. 

In division two Ginny Samborne had 35pts, second Jenny Kay 30pts, third Hazel Cash with 29pts on count back from Marion Stenhouse and Carolyn Crawford.  Barbara Porter was first in division three with 34pts, second Myra Sussex with 30pts on count back from Anne Williams.
