TWO qualifying rounds for the Daily Mail Foursomes were played at Tavistock Golf Club.
For the ladies, Nicky Gawman and Lynn Swift took the honours with 43 points; runners up with 38pts were Sue Coles and Fran Horton.
In the men’s Daily Mail Foursomes, played as a medal, the winning pair with nett 66 were Martin Channon and Brian Southcott on countback from Robert Bryant and Paul Lillicrap. Next knock out rounds will take place in early spring.
In the men’s Moorland Links medal in division one Adrian Bleasdale scored an excellent nett 65, second Stewart Ewens nett 66 and third with nett 67 Tom Williams. First in division two was Andy Down with a nett 71 on countback from Lee Bartlett while in third, Graham Raikes nett 73.
There was a good turn out for the Pro Shop Stableford. With a score of 40 points Mike Apps topped the leader board on countback from Adam Bridgewater. Brian Williams was third with 38pts.
At the lady veterans’ annual meeting, after an excellent lunch, the winners for the season collected their trophies. After thanking the ladies for all their support during her year Joy Tynan handed over to new captain June Kendall.
