IT was third time lucky for the ladies of Yelverton Golf Club.

Heavy rain and poor visibility caused the winners’ competition to be postponed twice. Eventually it was played this month, just one day before the club’s annual prizegiving.

This medal event was open to the silver and bronze winners of all medal and Stableford contests played since October 2014.

The Eveline West cup for this prestigious event is in memory of the 1947 lady captain. In blustery conditions, excellent rounds were played by Helen Harris and Sally Hills, who both scored net 74. Helen was the winner on countback.
