AT the recent Tavistock Golf Club ladies’ annual meeting retiring captain Gail Reed thanked everyone for their support and help during her year.

‘It has been a very enjoyable year,’ said Gail, ‘My special thanks to Marion for being such an excellent vice captain and I wish her every success as our new captain.’ 

She also thanked Val White for keeping such a great photographic record of the ladies’ events and to Norma Thewlis for her work as press officer. She also congratulated Norma on her appointment as a trustee of the club. 

There was good scoring in the men’s Stableford with Paul Crump taking the lead in division one with 43pts, second Graham Ruth on 41pts, third Adam Bridgewater on 40 pts on count back from David Axell. 

In division two first Jason Allen 44pts, second was Shaun Daymond 38 pts and  third Lewis Reid 36 pts on count back from Jerry Bawden.   

In the junior  Stableford  first was Harry Western with 35pts and second Luis Inacio 34 pts on count back from Jamie Ninnis. 

The fifth round of the four ball better ball Winter League was played in cold, blustery conditions but Nigel Roberts and Lewis Reid topped division one with an excellent 44pts.  

In division two with 40pts were Paul Crump and Nigel Doidge and first in division three were Dan Harris and Alan Doidge with 40pts.
