THE Mount House first seven hockey squad had a 7am start to their day at the Canford Hockey Tournament.

In a strong group, they lost 2-1 to All Hallows, then followed this with a loss by the only goal of the game against Sherborne Prep before drawing a close match with Perrot Hill, and qualifying for the plate competition.

They recovered their form to beat Dumpton 1-0, followed this up with a 2-0 victory over Forres Sandle Manor, and then beat Castle Court 1-0 to come away as winners of the Canford plate.

The scorers of the Mount House goals at the tournament were Emma Manton (4), Jess Huntington (2) and Becky Manton.

Earlier this month the Mount House girls won the Blundells' vase competition.
