FUN for everyone is guaranteed at a special event being held at Mount Kelly Astro pitch in Tavistock this Sunday (September 7). Tavistock Hockey Club is taking part in the England Hockey National Club Weekend and on Sunday will be staging its own club day between 10am and 1pm. There will be mini hockey games, a cake sale, an inflatable hockey pitch, music, face painting, apple bobbing, stalls and mini fitness sessions with Nick Lane Fitness, plus much more. Phil Honey, chairman of Tavistock Hockey Club, said: 'This really is a first for Tavistock Hockey Club, as this is not just a day for club members, but a day to connect with the wider community. 'England Hockey is trying to raise the awareness of hockey, following on from recent international successes, and this is one of many events around the country that are being run to promote hockey. 'These are exciting times for hockey in Tavistock and this is another area of our club development. 'It is going to be a fun day, with lots going on and also precedes the Devon county hockey development session, which is being held at Mount Kelly Astro pitch.'
