THE distinctive English sound of leather hitting willow rang at Yelverton aerodrome on Monday but this time with a distinctly Gallic resonance.
A visiting French School group of about 54 students have asked Moorland Guides to teach them how to play the game of cricket.
Simon Dell, the Moorland Guides organiser, assisted by Roger Hutchins and other guides taught the quintessential English game to the French youngsters.
The students will no doubt take the passion for the game back to France - it could be the start of something 'grand'.
