THEY may be Tavistock Community Football Club’s newest team but its under 9s are celebrating a successful first half to their inaugural season and a new training kit sponsored by Warrens Bakery and JC’s Window Cleaning.

The team has been so popular, with 25 players joining, that the U9s now have two teams playing in the Devon Junior Minor League. Boys from eight different primary schools in the area make up the squad, building a great camaraderie and developing a style of flowing, attractive passing football.

Their enthusiasm for the game is infectious — so much so they cannot wait for the second half of their season to start!
