THE countdown has begun for the biggest week in the history of Tavistock AFC, when they host two professional league clubs.
On Saturday , July 14, Plymouth Argyle visit Langsford Park with a 3pm kick-off.
Argyle manager Derek Adams has been busy in the transfer market to get a strong squad together for the 2018/19 division one season. He will bring his first team squad to Tavistock for this fixture.
Manager Stuart Henderson said: ‘This will be a great occasion for everyone concerned with Tavistock AFC and it’s a good opportunity for Argyle to see the new players that Derek Adams has assembled for the 2018/19 season.
This will be followed on Monday, July 16 by the visit of manager Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City, kick-off 7pm. The Bluebirds gained promotion back to the Premier League under Neil Warnock, who now holds the record number of promotions gained in English football, eight in total.
Stuart Henderson added: ‘I am absolutely delighted that Cardiff are coming to Langsford Park. This will be a massive test for the players to try and compete with top quality Premier League opposition.’
Also lined up are Wednesday, July 18, at home to Plymouth Parkway, kick-off 7.30pm; Saturday, July 21, home to Bere Alston, kick-off 3 pm; Tuesday, July 10, away to Tiverton Town, kick-off 7.30pm and Friday, August 3, away to Bideford, kick-off 7.30pm.
