THE home side got off to a fast start and Jack Ord in the visitors goal was called into action in the second minute to make a save from a long range shot from Adam Langabeer.
Cullompton then had a corner kick, from which Lloyd Beech headed well wide of the target. The Lambs were finding it difficult to get their passing game going, on a hard and slightly bumpy surface, and a strong breeze in their faces.
Cullompton’s new signing Sam Reed went close with a header in the 20th minute before Lewis Coombes then had a shot saved by Whatley in the home goal.
The Lambs did have the ball in the net in the 25th minute, following a fine move resulting in Rikki Shepherd firing a cross into the six yard box, for Jack Crago to fire home from three yards; however, the goal was ruled out, as Crago was adjudged off-side.
Just before the interval Lewis Coombes and Glyn Hobbs exchanged passes, which saw Hobbs fierce shot well saved by Whatley. The half time whistle brought the end to what was a disappointing first 45 minutes.
Manager Stewart Henderson had a few words during the break as the Lambs were really on the front foot from the restart. Four minutes in, the Lambs broke the deadlock, when a corner kick from Dave Hallett was partially cleared, the ball fell to Coombes just outside the penalty area; he found Lewis Daw with the perfect pass, who slotted the ball home from 15 yards.
The visitors were now in control as Shepherd shot over, before they doubled their lead on the hour, when a neat move in midfield resulted in Warren Daw providing a defence splitting pass that put Glyn Hobbs in on goal; he coolly rounded the advancing keeper and walked the ball into the goal.
Tavistock made the game safe in the 85th minute when Lewis Pacey produced a beautiful cross field ball for Kelvin Fyneboy thump the ball home from 12 yards.
The home team made a concerted effort to reduce the deficit, but the Lambs were in no mood to concede a goal, and saw the game out with ease.
Although not at their best Tavistock were well worth there three goal victory, a result that keeps them third in the league table.
