A CHARITY 12-hour football tournament to raise money for Young Epilepsy was held on the astra turf at Callington College on Sunday. By the end of the day nearly was £3,000.

The 12-hour football marathon was attended by more than 100 players consisting of local individuals and four teams who were Callington Colts, Plymouth Map Kings, Tesco Launceston and Tesco Tavistock. There was also a children’s game with an age range of 4 to 14 years of age.

The event was to raise awareness and funds for Young Epilepsy inspired by Jayden Honey, the son of Andrew and Kelly Honey, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Football was played for 12 hours continuously between 9am to 9pm and varied between seven a-side and eleven a-side matches.
