Newtown Reserves 4
Chagford 2
DESPITE cracking goals from Reuben Sampson and man of the match Jack Phillips, Chagford returned home with nothing to show for their efforts.
The visitors had put themselves in position to pick up a point but Newtown went to take all three.

CHAGFORD stunned unbeaten Millwey with a display of good football and great confidence. The visitors were put on the back foot from the start and remained there for most of the game.
Returning from injury, Darren Siwier opened the scoring with a well taken penalty in the 13th minute. Within 30 seconds Millwey had equalised, King’s low free-kick sneaking inside Knight’s near post. This spurred Chagford on and at the half hour mark Simon Ralph’s shot clipped the cross-bar and dropped in, restoring the lead. From there on Chagford felt they were not going to lose although a third might be needed to settle the match.
Chances went begging at Rise’s end and Chagford’s resolute defence, empitomised by man of the match Will Hutchison, snuffed out what little attacking threat arose. The third goal came in the 80th minute when Davon Friend stabbed the ball in from a goalmouth melee. There was still time for Siwier to grab his second to seal a fine team performance.
