CALLINGTON TOWN 4

LAUNCESTON 3

CALLINGTON’s second team made it their fourth league win of the season with an excellent win over Launceston.

Ryan Lucassi gave the home side the lead and a 1-0 advantage to take into half-time.

After the break the game sparked into life. In the 55th minute in-form striker Max White made it 2-0 and Andre Rodikov in the 72nd minute before a brace from Gareth Jones pulled two back for the visitors.

With just two minutes to go the referee pointed to the spot following a foul in the area by Launceston’s Josh Harris. White gladly tucked away the penalty for 4-2 but Launceston were not finished yet. A late goal by Max Steiner for 4-3 set up a tense finish to the game but the home side held on for a precious victory.

The win leaves third from bottom Callington a point behind Tavistock and Launceston with three games in hand on the latter.
