Devon and Exeter premierOKEHAMPTON ARGYLE 1EXMOUTH TOWN RESERVES 1STEVE Madge opened the scoring for Argyle with an early goal after two minutes; this well taken effort saw Okehampton’s confidence rise and they played well for the remainder of the first half retaining the lead at half-time.

Exmouth had the dual advantages of the Simmons Park slope and the wind and pressed hard for an equaliser straight from the break. Okehampton defended well for long periods and also had several chances to extend their lead, unfortunately they were not taken and Exmouth’s pressure eventually resulted in an equaliser.

With both teams needing the three points the game then moved into an attacking period, both sides wasted the chances created and the game ended all square. Okehampton were disappointed not to have taken more from this game but when they are at the foot of the table and every point is important.
