COTEHELE Quay Gig Club had an outstanding start to the 2017 season with exceptional results at the Three Rivers Race at Saltash earlier this month.
The five-mile race under the Tamar Bridge offers a great opportunity to see how crews are selected for the World Pilot Gig Championships — which takes place in the Isles of Scilly from 28 April to 1 May — ladies’ crews and 80 men’s crews entered the event and the results for CQGC were: Ladies A, 22nd overall; ladies C, 56th; men’s A 34th and men’s B 54th.
The club congratulated all those who rowed for CQGC, the results demonstrated a real improvement on 2016 despite a lot of changes in the crews.
