Heather Fell, Olympic modern pentathlete silver medalist, writes about her life 'on and off' the track.

I returned to Bath and to my relief heard no mention of the rugby although I now have a confession to make. This Saturday just past saw both Bath and Exeter playing at their home grounds — normally in this situation I would ensure I am in Devon and heading along to Sandy Park to support the Chiefs.

However this weekend happened to be my birthday and with the Bath game being more convenient for the majority of my friends the decision was made. It turned out to be a perfect day; plenty of sunshine great company and a brilliant win for both teams.

As a result of my recent brief encounters with the fashion industry and the increased media profile of Olympic sport I was involved in the making of a short film for You Tube. I agreed to be pictured in training during a horrendously hard run in the hope that the later filming of me browsing the boutiques in the city will be a strong contrast and show just what a bit of make up and a pair of heels can do.

The last couple of weekends have been void of competitions, which I expect my body has needed, as all is about to change. The international season is now underway and I am heading off to the USA this week to compete in my first world cup of the year. There is little time to recover, as it is then straight onto Brazil for world cup two just a week later.
