CHAGFORD Cricket Club president Mike Wreford selected both the Chagford team and his President's team for the annual game on Sunday.

This year, instead of sprinkling the President's team with outside 'stars' he took the opportunity of selecting both teams with players from within the club —the first, second and third teams to give them the opportunity of playing together.

Due  to the logistics of Devon League Cricket, with the firsts and seconds being home and away on alternate Saturdays, and the newly created third team who play at Spreyton,  it is generally impossible for the players to get  together during the season.  

The Chagford XI finished on 10 for no wicket in three overs before rain interrupted. However, there was a light hearted atmosphere  in the pavilion as the players of both teams, officials, and vice presidents were entertained to tea —courtesy of the president.
