TAVISTOCK Wheeler Daniel Pearce finished the great Trans Alba Race in Scotland in the early hours of Monday morning.
He completed the 1,000-mile, self-supporting, bikepacking race around Scotland in a superb seven days, 19 hours and 45 minutes. He was one of just 22 of the 39 entrants to finish who started the race in the solo event on July 1.
In this feat of endurance there were no sportive style feed stops or way-marked routes – riders were responsible for all their own navigation and logistics, while remaining completely self reliant throughout the event.
