South West division one

Tavistock A 6

Tavistock B 2

FOR the second time this season two Tavistock teams faced each other, but this time Tavistock A did not have such an easy victory.

Within minutes of the start Tavistock B went ahead through a superbly worked attacking move involving Bassett and Andrews that ended with a Josh Reynolds opener. Stunned into action Tavistock A started to press the B team. Glanville, Park and Curno defended well, but the constant attacks eventually led to an equaliser. The Bs continued to have chances at the other end, but with a defence of Cowans, Lethbridge and Anning clear-cut opportunities were rare.

Throughout the game the A team strike force of Holland, Daniels and Donney were a constant threat and by half-time the B team found themselves trailing 3-1. A fourth goal came shortly after the restart from Daniels.

Undaunted the B team battled well in an end-to-end game and their youthful midfield of Curno, Sparks, Venton, Marshall and Stimpson showed that Tavistock have some great up and coming talent.

The A team's next goal came from a trade mark short corner converted by a powerful shot from Lethbridge. The B team continued to play their game and their efforts were rewarded with a second goal from Andrews, keeping up his goal a game record.

The last word though came from Tavistock A with a another from Daniels to make his hat-trick. The result keeps the A team at the top of the league, but the B team have slipped to second from bottom.
