COTEHELE Quay Gig Club took their pilot gig Zeus into Devon to take part in Paignton Regatta. The weather forecast was not particularly favourable but in the event the rain held off and the sun came through the clouds. There was a bit of swell and chop between buoys one and three but nothing too hard to handle. The club entered men's A, B and C crews, ladies' B and C crews, ladies' veterans, men's veterans and a mixed crew. The Ladies B crew were second going into the first buoy turn when they were in a nasty collision with another boat which was later disqualified. Zeus had to stop completely for a minute or two which meant a lot of boats went past them. Once they got underway again they made up quite a lot of ground but unfortunately could not get back to their original high position. Best Cotehele Quay GC results were ladies' C and men's C coming second and third respectively and the mixed crew fourth out of 10 boats.

Mixed crew (back row) Joe Rogers, Sam Rogers and Alistair Gascoyne; (front) Liv Martin, Kelly Elvidge and Carolynne Clarke.
