COOL autumnal conditions greeted competitors in the Bristol Half Marathon recently. Among the 8,200 who took part were three athletes from Tavistock Athletic Club – Pete Bazley and Graham and Caron De Val.
The race had a thrilling finish, with three Kenyan athletes finishing within one second of each other.
Pete was first TAC to finish, in 1hour, 36minutes, 47seconds, a platinum time for his age/time and just one second outside of his season's best time recorded on the flatter course at Bideford in March.
Graham knocked almost a minute off his last year's time for this race, gaining a gold award and finishing in 1.41.50. Caron finished in 2.10.01, earning her first bronze half marathon time of 2013.
On the same day, Rachel Waldron was the only TAC in the Kipling Coastal Run, a scenic eight miles set on road, beach, track and coastal path starting and finishing at Westward Ho!
Rachel finished this challenging course in 1.35.24.
