CONSERVATIVE A took an ever firmer grip on the Tavistock Snooker league top spot with an emphatic 5-0 win over bottom side Conservative C.

The only tough game was a scrappy affair between the A team's Lacey and C's Bassett with Lacey stealing it on the pink. All the other frames were one sided with highlights from Carruthers who had breaks of 37 and 22 breaks and Longden who racked up a massive 106-10 in his frame.

West Devon A had it easy in their 'local derby' against West Devon B team, with a convincing 4-1 win. Only Colin Bath of the B team secured any points for his team although Jack May ran Heathman close in a black ball finish. John Emptage had a good 26 break in his game against Gilchrist. The four points was enough to keep the A team in joint second spot.

Tavy A went joint second with West Devon A courtesy of a solid win over previous second spot holders, Conservative B.

There was not much to shout about from Con B as Tavy proved too strong in all departments for them. Highlight of the night was provided by Tavy A's Grylls with a sumptuous thoroughly deserved 41 break. Also Ryall chipped in with a tasty 32 break, and Hoare with a nice 21. The only consolation for Con B was another good showing from Mart McKechnie who overcame Woods.
